Our Blacktop 1.0 Step Thru pairs the latest eBike technology to a tough city commuter at an affordable price point, with a fully integrated downtube battery and powerful rear drive motor. Add an optional city pack for mudguards and rear rack.
Our all-new entry level ecommuter packs in some of the very latest eBike technologies such as a fully integrated and detachable Samsung 10.4AH battery to provide an extended range up to 60KM. The handlebar-mounted LCD information display shows usual information such as battery level, speed, trip distance and more. Also, it allows you to choose your assistance level, with 5 levels to choose from. With Shimano 7-speed gearing, confidence-inspiring city/ comfort geometry and Tektro disc brakes, the Blacktop 1.0 Step Thru is a great value eCommuter to cruise around the city effortlessly.
Also, the Blacktop 1.0 Step Thru is available with an optional City Pack which includes mudguards and a rear pannier rack in select countries.

General eBike FAQ
Q. How far can I travel on a full charge?
The range you can expect depends on how hard the battery is working. This will be affected by factors like the weight of the rider, how much luggage you’re carrying, tyre pressure, hills/terrain, road condition, wind and the level of assistance or power setting you use. We will list the distance you can expect to ride under ideal conditions in the product details section of each Electric Bike. As a general guide though, the range varies from around 60km per full charge for our 10.4Ah battery hub motor eBikes, up to 100-120km+ for our 14Ah Ananda mid-mount eBikes. The dual-battery system on the KADe can even cover 150km+.
Q. How do I charge an Electric Bike and how long will it take?
Simply plug the charger into a standard wall socket at work or when you get home. To charge the battery from 0% to 80% will take 2 hours, 100% in 4 hours. Most of the time though you’ll just need to top up rather than completely refill. Charging times are similar for Bafang and Ananda systems.
Q. Can I ride an eBike in the rain?
Yes, all of these units are sealed and made for all-conditions riding.
Q. How can I safely handle and use a Li-ion Electric Bike battery?
Lithium Ion batteries are a powerful technology that have given us handy cordless tools and devices from mobile phones and laptops, to power drills, vacuum cleaners and now electric bikes.
This is an increasingly common power source that is here to stay, and is safe if handled properly. Read our full safety guide here.
Q. Is there a speed limit on ebikes?
Depending on the region of purchase, the speed limits on our E-Bikes are 25km/h or 32km/h.
Given the legal variations across regions, check your local laws.
