This month, we’re heading to Madison, Wisconsin, to shine the spotlight on Crazy Lenny’s eBikes - one of the very first eBike-only retailers in the United States. Established in 2013, Crazy Lenny’s has been at the forefront of the electric bike movement, helping riders of all ages discover just how fun, accessible, and transformative eBiking can be.

We sat down with Steve from Crank Revolution to talk about his long-standing passion for cycling, his connection to the local community, and why eBikes continue to open the door for more people to get out and ride - all while building a strong partnership with Reid along the way.

Introduce yourselves…

We are Crazy Lenny’s eBikes, based in Madison, Wisconsin. Established in 2013, we were one of the very first eBike-only retail stores in the United States, and we’ve proudly remained a dedicated eBike retailer ever since.

With decades of experience in the cycling industry and a passion for electric mobility, our goal has always been to help people discover how fun, accessible, and life-changing eBikes can be. Whether someone is new to cycling or a lifelong rider looking for an easier way to get around, we’re here to help them find the right ride.

Where can your store be found?

You can find us at 6017 Odana Road, Madison, Wisconsin 53719. Our location makes us easily accessible for people looking to explore Madison by bike. We welcome anyone interested in learning more about eBikes to stop by, ask questions, and take a test ride.

What does cycling mean to you?

Cycling has been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember. I’ve been involved with bikes my entire life and working in the bike industry since 1976. Even today, I’m still an avid cyclist and ride nearly every day that the weather allows.

How do you integrate with your local community?

Community involvement is very important to us. We regularly organize group rides in partnership with local businesses, creating opportunities for people to connect, ride together, and discover the benefits of eBiking in a relaxed and social setting.

We also work closely with other local businesses to create cooperative promotions that support one another while encouraging more people to get out and ride. It’s always a win-win - strengthening the local business community while promoting healthy, sustainable transportation.

And of course, working in a bike shop means you get some unforgettable interactions along the way. One memorable moment was when a customer asked if I would bungee cord her Chihuahua to the rear rack of an eBike for a test ride. For the record - that offer was politely declined!

How long have you been a Reid retailer?

We’ve been a Reid retailer for about three years now and have really enjoyed working with the brand during that time.

What is your best-selling Reid product?

Our best-selling Reid model is the Reid eMetro Folding Bike. Customers love its convenience, portability, and versatility - especially for urban riding, commuting, or anyone who needs a compact solution without sacrificing performance.

How has your experience with Reid been?

Our experience with Reid has been excellent. The quality of the bikes and the level of customer service they provide make them a pleasure to work with. It’s a brand we feel confident recommending because we know our customers will be well taken care of.

Finally, what advice would you give to those who are considering getting into bike riding, or perhaps have never tried it before?

The best reason to try an eBike is that whatever might be holding you back from riding, the electric assist helps eliminate it. Hills become manageable, headwinds aren’t an issue, and you’ll find yourself riding farther than you ever thought possible.

If you’ve ever thought biking wasn’t for you, an eBike might just change your mind. It opens the door to a whole new level of freedom, fun, and confidence on two wheels.
