Meet Taberna Sansom: Reid's New Marketing Manager

At Reid Bikes, we're passionate about the people behind the brand as much as the bikes themselves. In this edition of our Meet The Team Q&A series, we're catching up with Taberna, our Marketing Manager, who joined Reid Bikes with more than 20 years of marketing experience and a strong background in the cycling industry.

Having spent over five years helping grow one of the UK's leading kids' bike brands, Taberna brings a wealth of knowledge, fresh ideas and a genuine passion for getting more people riding. We sat down with her to learn more about her career journey, what drew her to Reid Bikes and what she's most excited about for the future.

Taberna, tell us a little about yourself…

I’m currently the Marketing Manager at Reid Bikes, stepping into the role while our Head of Marketing, Beth Nash, is on maternity leave. I’ve worked in marketing for more than 20 years, helping brands connect with their audiences and tell compelling stories. Most recently, I spent over five years as Marketing Manager at kids’ bike brand Frog Bikes, where I developed a real passion for encouraging more families and young riders to get on two wheels. I’m excited to be bringing that experience to Reid Bikes and supporting the continued growth of one of the cycling industry’s most recognisable bike brands.

How did you get involved with Reid?

I was approached by Reid Bikes about an opportunity within their marketing team. Having spent many years working in the cycling industry, it felt like a natural fit from the outset. We quickly realised that my experience and passion for the sector aligned well with what Reid Bikes was looking for, and I was excited by the opportunity to help grow the brand, support bike retailers and connect more customers with the right bikes for their needs.

What excites you about the future of Reid Bikes?

What excites me most is the opportunity to help grow a well-established bike brand with a strong reputation for delivering quality, value and accessibility. Reid Bikes offers an impressive range of bikes, from commuter bikes and hybrid bikes through to mountain bikes, electric bikes and family bikes, making cycling accessible to a wide range of riders. I’m looking forward to helping more people discover the brand, strengthening relationships with retailers and private label partners, and supporting Reid Bikes as it continues to expand its presence across different markets.

What do you enjoy most about working in the bike industry?

One of the things I enjoy most about the bike industry is that it’s constantly evolving. Having spent the past 5 years of my career focused on kids’ bikes and family cycling, I’ve seen first-hand the positive impact that cycling can have on confidence, independence and everyday life. I’m now excited to broaden my experience by learning more about the adult bike market, including commuter bikes, electric bikes and leisure cycling. It’s also fascinating to see how bike brands continue to innovate to meet the needs of different riders and customers.

What do you enjoy most about working in marketing?

What I enjoy most about marketing is that no two days are ever the same. I love the combination of creativity and strategy, whether that’s developing campaigns, launching new products, analysing customer insights or finding new ways to connect with audiences. Marketing gives you the opportunity to tell a brand’s story and help people understand what makes a product or business special. After more than 20 years in the industry, I still enjoy learning, adapting and finding new ways to engage customers, build brand awareness and support long-term business growth.
